'Fragile' Cavs hope to get on track vs. Orlando

Nov 24, 2014 - 3:16 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Orlando Magic have more wins than LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Yes, you heard that correctly.

The Magic (6-9) have one more win than the Cavaliers (5-7) and will try to make it two when they visit the superstar-laden squad Monday night at Quicken Loans Arena.

Cleveland is mired in a season-long four-game losing streak after winning four in a row and James called the team "fragile."

"We're a very fragile team right now," James said after Friday's 110-93 loss to Toronto. "Well, we were a fragile team from the beginning. Any little adversity hits us, we just shell up. That's something that will come with experience."

James had 15 points and 10 assists, while Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving scored 23 and 21 points, respectively, for Cleveland, which committed 20 turnovers and shot 43.2 percent. James had five turnovers and his team hasn't scored 100 points during the slide.

"Far too many unnecessary turnovers," said Cavs head coach David Blatt. "Ball- handling, turnovers. Mistakes that, a good half of them are avoidable."

The Cavs had an 18-point lead in the first quarter evaporate and trailed by double digits in the final stanza. They had a 46-34 advantage in rebounds and a 52-34 difference in points in the paint. Still, the Cavaliers couldn't hold on because of turnovers and poor shooting in the second half.

Cleveland ended 3-of-16 from 3-point range and has struggled defensively, allowing 102.7 ppg. Washington, Indiana and Milwaukee are scheduled to visit Quicken Loans Arena.

Irving hopes to lift the Cavs back into the win column and has scored 20 or more points in a career-high seven straight games. He is averaging 23.1 points, 5.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds in that time.

Orlando shoots for its third straight road win Monday and looks to bounce back from Friday's 99-92 loss to the Miami Heat. Heat forward Chris Bosh was too much with 32 points and 10 rebounds, and made 4-of-6 3-pointers. Miami shot 52.1 percent from the floor and was 12-of-26 from downtown.

Nikola Vucevic countered for the Magic with 33 points and 17 rebounds, while Victor Oladipo scored 14 points for Orlando, which shot 44.9 percent and had a 44-33 advantage in rebounds. Oladipo was impressed with his teammate Vucevic, who leads the team in scoring (19.4) and rebounding (12.1).

"I mean, he barely even jumps but he gets them. That's how good he is," Oladipo said. "He's a great big, one of the best in the league."

Orlando is 4-5 on the road this season and went just 4-37 away from Amway Center in 2013-14.

Magic forward Tobias Harris did not play versus the Heat because of a strained right calf and is questionable against the Cavaliers. He is second on the team in points (18.8) and boards (8.4).

The Magic lost all four meetings with Cleveland last season and are winless in the past seven encounters between the teams.

James, who is averaging 24.7 ppg this season, posted 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists in four games against Orlando last season as a member of the Heat. In 45 career games, including the playoffs, against the Magic, James is averaging 28.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.9 assists.

The Cavs have a chance to prove they're not fragile when they shoot for a fifth straight win over the Magic at the Q.
