Bucks try to get back on track vs. Pistons

Nov 25, 2014 - 3:00 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to end a two-game slide Tuesday night when they welcome the Detroit Pistons to the Bradley Center in a Central Division rivalry.

The Bucks fell in Toronto on Friday night, then lost at home to the Washington Wizards on Saturday. Those setbacks ended a three-game winning streak and knocked last season's worst team back to .500.

On Saturday, Milwaukee fell, 111-100. It was certainly a rough two-game stretch for the Bucks who played the two teams with the best records in the Eastern Conference.

"We just have to treat every team like they're the number two or number three team in the division," said Bucks rookie Jabari Parker. "We didn't play real well."

Brandon Knight supplied 27 points, six assists and five boards for Milwaukee. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 20 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.

Ersan Ilyasova chipped in 13 off the bench and O.J. Mayo netted 10 in a reserve role.

The Bucks led by five at the half, then got beat on in the third quarter. Washington took that frame, 27-18, then won the final 12 minutes by seven to earn the double-digit victory.

Following Tuesday, the Bucks play three of their next four on the road.

The Pistons have been dreadful of late, losing four in a row and seven of their last eight. The only victory during that run was an overtime road win in Oklahoma City 11 days ago.

On Friday, the Pistons fell in Atlanta, 99-89, to the Hawks. It was the fifth consecutive game Detroit failed to score 100 points.

Josh Smith scored 16 points with eight rebounds and five assists while D.J. Augustin gave 14 points and five boards for the Pistons.

Andre Drummond registered a double-double of 13 points and 16 rebounds. Greg Monroe and Caron Butler both finished with 10 points as Detroit shot 37.3 percent from the field and 19 percent from long range.

"We're just in a shooting slump right now," said Smith, who played nine seasons with the Hawks. "We're getting open looks and shots at the basket. We just got to slow down and not rush."

The Pistons will return to the Palace Wednesday night to begin a four-game homestand.

Detroit beat the Bucks by three in Motown on Nov. 7. The Pistons are 7-2 in their last nine against Milwaukee and 3-1 in their last four in Brew City.
