Paul, Clippers top Bucks

Dec 21, 2014 - 7:16 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul had 27 points and nine assists as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 106-102 on Saturday night.

Blake Griffin posted 24 points and eight assists, J.J. Redick netted 23 points and DeAndre Jordan pulled down 16 rebounds for the Clippers, who have won three of their last four games.

"We really needed to get this one. We got into the bonus early in the fourth quarter, that was huge," Paul said.

Giannis Antetokounmpo tallied 18 points, nine boards and six helpers for Milwaukee, which had won three of its last four coming in.

Paul netted nine of the Clippers' last 11 points.

Brandon Knight tied the game for Milwaukee at 102-102 with 1:29 remaining before two Paul foul shots put the Clippers back in front with 1:12 to play.

Knight was off the mark on a 3-point attempts and then on a two-point jumper following a Jared Dudley offensive rebound. Paul took the clock down at the other end, but misfired on a right elbow jumper. Griffin, though, was there to tip it in with five seconds left to seal the outcome.

"At the end we couldn't convert," Bucks coach Jason Kidd said. "On the defensive end we gave up offensive rebounds."

Earlier, Los Angeles led 28-24 after one quarter, but Milwaukee outscored the Clippers 28-22 in the second and was up 52-50 at halftime.

Jerryd Bayless capped a 6-0 Milwaukee spurt with a trey to stake the Bucks to a 70-63 advantage midway through the third. Reddick, though, hit a jumper in the waning seconds of the quarter to finish off a 10-4 flurry to close the stanza and get LA within 83-82 going into the fourth.
