The Cavaliers made it four straight wins with Wednesday's 106-92 victory over the Utah Jazz and were led by LeBron James, who registered 26 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. James, though, had seven turnovers.
Kevin Love contributed 19 points and 13 rebounds, Timofey Mozgov added 16 points and 11 boards, and Kyrie Irving netted 18 points for the Cavs, whose winning streak comes on the heels of losing six in a row and nine of 10 games.
"It's clicking," James said. "We have a good groove right now."
James has scored 26 points or more in five straight games, posting an average of 30.6 ppg in that span.
Cleveland has scored 100 or more points in five straight games and will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday at the Q. It is 13-9 at home this season.
The Cavs could see Iman Shumpert Friday night for the first time since acquiring him in a three-team deal with the New York Knicks and Thunder. Shumpert has been sidelined with a shoulder injury and last played Dec. 12 at Boston. He averaged 9.3 ppg with the Knicks this season.
Charlotte has been playing well of late with three straight wins and eight in the past nine tries.
The Hornets went 3-1 on a recent homestand and recorded a 78-76 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday, as Kemba Walker scored 15 points on just 4-of-17 shooting. Bismack Biyombo recorded 12 points and 12 boards, Al Jefferson came off the bench to post 12 points and four rebounds, and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ended with eight points to go along with 14 rebounds.
With the Heat trailing by two in the closing seconds, Chris Bosh missed on a 3-pointer from the top of the key. Mario Chalmers tracked down the rebound, and his final shot from the corner missed short.
"Basketball is a game of runs," said Walker. "It was up to us to stay mentally tough, get stops, and make plays on our end."
Walker missed the previous two games because of a knee injury.
Charlotte had a 56-41 advantage on the glass and shot 33.8 percent. It will host the New York Knicks Saturday night.
The Hornets are winless (0-2) against the Cavaliers this season and had won the previous five games in this series.
