Hayward, Jazz down Lakers

Mar 20, 2015 - 5:16 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Gordon Hayward had 22 points, five assists, five rebounds and four steals as the Utah Jazz defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 80-73 on Thursday night.

Trey Burke netted 17 points and Derrick Favors added 14 points and seven boards for the Jazz, who have won seven of their last eight games.

Tark Black posted 13 points and 10 rebounds for Los Angeles, which has dropped nine of its last 10 games.

Jordan Clarkson sunk a pair of foul shots to get the Lakers within 72-71 with 2:44 left, but the Jazz ended the game on an 8-2 run.

A pair of Burke layups preceded two free throws from Hayward, which extended Utah's margin to 78-71 with a minute to play and the Jazz coasted from there.

The Jazz led 18-16 following a quarter of play, but the Lakers outscored them 20-15 in the second and were up 36-33 at the break.

Utah outscored Los Angeles 25-19 in the third and held a 58-55 edge heading into the final frame.
