Pistons top Celtics in overtime

Detroit trailed for much of the game but evened the score with a minute to play and got two defensive stops to send the game to overtime.
It was the third win in four games for the Pistons, who got 18 points and 22 rebounds from Andre Drummond. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope paced Detroit with 27 points and Reggie Jackson recorded 17 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, finishing just short of his second triple-double in three games.
"I mean I keep saying it, this team's got a lot of character and guys have continued to fight the entire year," said Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy.
The Celtics have lost three in a row following a five-game winning streak that got them into the playoff race. Evan Turner finished with 23 points, eight assists, six rebounds and three steals, while Jae Crowder scored 19 and added seven boards.
Detroit took its first lead of the second half with 5:49 to play, but Avery Bradley responded immediately at the other end with a 3-pointer to put Boston back in front.
Tayshaun Prince gave the Pistons another brief lead at 86-85 with a 3 1:15 with a 3 but again the Celtics answered, this time with a Crowder three-point play. Jackson's shot off the glass at the other end tied the game, then Turner missed a pair of jumpers in the final minute as the game went to overtime.
Caldwell-Pope's jumper opened the extra period and Jodie Meeks followed on the next possession with a 3. Drummond then tipped in a shot to put the Pistons up seven.
"It shouldn't be crushing," said Boston coach Brad Stevens. "You should be able to respond to adversity."
Turner's layup briefly disrupted the Pistons' momentum, but they scored the next six points to take an 11-point lead, their largest of the game. Turner scored seven of Boston's nine points in overtime as Detroit held on to the lead.
Baskets from Caldwell-Pope and Jackson in the first minute gave the Pistons a quick 4-0 lead, but neither team led by more than three in the rest of the period. The Pistons led 26-23 after 12 minutes.
Offense remained hard to come by in the second quarter. The Celtics shot just 9-of-28, but 10 offensive rebounds helped them get 10 second chance points. Crowder scored the final six points of the half to give Boston a 47-41 lead at the break.
Turner scored the first four points of the third period to give the Celtics the first double-digit lead of the game, but the Pistons chipped away at the lead. Tyler Zeller's layup at the buzzer gave Boston a 69-63 edge after three.
