Hawks' Korver out three months after ankle surgery
May 28, 2015 - 3:13 AM Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - Atlanta Hawks guard/forward Kyle Korver had surgery to repair ligament damage in his right ankle, the team announced Wednesday.Korver suffered a high ankle sprain in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Cavaliers. The Hawks were swept 4-0 by the Cavs.
Korver's recovery is expected to be about three months.
Korver reached his first career All-Star Game this season. He averaged 12.1 points per game and led the league in 3-point shooting for the second straight season at 49.2 percent. He averaged 11.1 points on 35.5 percent 3-point shooting in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, Hawks guard Shelvin Mack will have surgery next week to repair his right shoulder. He was injured in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's loss at Cleveland. An examination Wednesday confirmed the diagnosis of a separated shoulder.
Mack's recovery period will be determined following the surgery.
