Miami Heat 2015 Draft Preview

Jun 23, 2015 - 4:09 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - It is already quite an interesting summer in South Beach.

After a post-LeBron world netted a lottery appearance, the Miami Heat have three huge pieces who can opt out of their contracts, including the face of the franchise.

Dwyane Wade, according to reports, wants to get paid. Some have said he's prepared to leave the Heat. Until he signs a contract elsewhere, it's all a game of chicken to get paid in Miami.

Goran Dragic, an All-NBA third-teamer two seasons ago, was acquired during the season and can opt out. He'll want to get paid. Luol Deng may not exercise his player option, but the Heat definitely want him back.

If Miami returns whole, with Chris Bosh healthy, they're a strong Eastern Conference team. Josh McRoberts essentially missed the whole season. Bosh was out the second half. There is talent, but the Heat could use an influx of young athleticism.

Arizona's Stanley Johnson could be a nice fit for a couple of reasons. Small forward could be a need if Deng makes his way out of town. Johnson is a good two-way prospect.

Wisconsin's Sam Dekker is another interesting prospect. He emerged during the Badgers' run to the national championship game and, like Johnson, is a strong small forward, NBA-ready talent.

Miami could look for insurance up front with Bosh's health a question, and Hassan Whiteside's penchant for the unpredictable. That leaves Texas' Myles Turner, or Dekker's Wisconsin teammate, Frank Kaminsky, as possibilities.
