No. 3 Duke routs Wake Forest

Mar 5, 2015 - 4:48 AM Durham, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Grayson Allen set a career high in the first half, netting 19 of his 27 points in the opening 20 minutes as No. 3 Duke rolled to a 94-51 victory over Wake Forest Wednesday night.

Allen set his previous mark in his first career game, scoring 18 points in a 113-44 drubbing of Presbyterian.

"Coach has been giving me opportunities, and I was able to capitalize today. This is the type of game to get my confidence going," Allen said.

Tyus Jones posted 17 points and Justise Winslow added 13 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Blue Devils (27-3, 14-3 ACC), who have won 10 straight.

Codi Miller-McIntyre led Wake Forest (13-17, 5-12) with 20 points.

"We had a very disappointing showing," Deamon Deacons coach Danny Manning said.

The Blue Devils raced out to a 31-5 advantage midway through the first half and never looked back.

Allen recorded seven of the last nine Duke points during the surge, including a four-point play to cap it and stake it to its huge lead. Winslow added 10 points during the swing.

Jones ended the dominant first half by nailing a triple while being fouled at the top of the arc with 0.1 seconds on the clock. He hit the free throw to complete the four-point play and extend the Duke margin to 52-15.

The Blue Devils cruised to the easy triumph in the second half.

Allen finished 9-of-11 from the field and 4-of-5 from beyond the arc ... Quinn Cook had 13 points and five rebounds for Duke ... The Blue Devils shot 57.6 percent (34-of-59) from the floor.
