No. 7 Arizona rolls past UCLA

Feb 22, 2015 - 4:31 AM Tucson, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. McConnell had 11 points and five assists and No. 7 Arizona scraped past UCLA, 57-47, extending its win streak at McKale Center to 36 games.

While the starters struggled putting the ball in the hoop, reserves Gabe York and Dusan Ristic led Arizona (24-3, 12-2 Pac-12) with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Wildcats have won four straight games since falling to in-state rival Arizona State on Feb. 7.

Bryce Alford netted a game-high 22 points for UCLA (16-12, 8-7).

Arizona went scoreless for the first six-plus minutes of the game, missing its first eight shots from the floor. A pair of free throws from Ristic broke the scoring drought at 13:55 and the Wildcats dominated the rest of the half.

They finished the half on an 8-0 run and led 32-18 at the break, but UCLA flipped the script after halftime.

The Bruins ran off 17 straight points to open the second half. Kevin Looney hit a pair of 3-pointers during the surge, which gave the visitors a three- point lead with 13 1/2 minutes to play.

Arizona owned a 44-43 advantage with 5 1/2 when York's 3 sparked a 7-0 run. Alford and Isaac Hamilton scored consecutive buckets to get UCLA back within four, but McConnell scored the game's final five points to put it away.
