No. 12 Utah dispatches Washington

Jan 26, 2015 - 4:13 AM Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Dakarai Tucker scored 19 points as 12th-ranked Utah rolled over Washington, 77-56, on Sunday.

Brandon Taylor contributed 14 points and Chris Reyes added 11 for the Utes (16-3, 6-1 Pac-12), winners of two straight since a loss at Arizona.

Andrew Andrews recorded a game-high 22 points for the Huskies (14-5, 3-4), who had won three in a row. Robert Upshaw posted 13 with nine boards and five blocks in the setback.

Upshaw's jumper drew the Huskies within 43-38 roughly 4 1/2 minutes into the second half but the Utes ran away with the game over the next five minutes, stretching their advantage to 66-41 on a Dallin Bachynski slam.

Jordan Loveridge scored the first three points of the surge, then Taylor sank a pair of triples around a Tucker bucket before Washington finally answered on a Mike Anderson free throw. But Tucker was good twice more from long distance -- the second one creating a 60-39 advantage just over eight minutes in.

Utah's lead maxed out at 25 points at several more junctures over the remainder of the contest.

The hosts jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the early stages, and Loveridge's make from distance forged a 29-14 advantage with 8:29 left before halftime.

Anderson's long-range make whittled the Huskies deficit to 29-23 with 6:20 on the clock and Andrews' three made it 31-26. Utah eventually held a 37-30 lead at intermission.
