Arizona gives Sean Miller extension
Jun 15, 2012 - 10:09 PM Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Board of Regents on Friday approved an extension of Arizona head men's basketball coach Sean Miller's contract through the 2016-17 season.Miller is 69-35 in three seasons with the Wildcats. He guided the 2011 squad to a regular-season Pac-12 championship and an Elite Eight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He was named Pac-12 coach of the year for his efforts.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank President (Ann Weaver) Hart, Dr. (Eugene) Sander and Greg Byrne for their continued belief in me as the Head Basketball Coach at the University of Arizona," Miller said. "During the last three years we have been able to lay a strong foundation for future success both in the classroom and on the basketball court. I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead as we work toward building our program into a national contender once again."
The future is bright for Arizona, as Miller's incoming recruiting class was considered among the nation's top three.
