Tennessee's Stokes to enter NBA Draft
Apr 11, 2014 - 6:50 PM Knoxville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Tennessee forward Jarnell Stokes said Friday he will skip his senior season to enter the NBA Draft.Stokes, 20, ranked second on the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game and was easily Tennessee's leading rebounder, pulling down 10.6 per game on the way to being named a first-team All-SEC selection.
He averaged 18.0 points and 12.8 rebounds as the Volunteers won three games in the NCAA Tournament to make the Sweet 16, where they lost to Michigan.
Tennessee says his 12.8 rebounds per game ranks No. 1 in program history for players who have appeared in at least two NCAA Tournament games.
The 6-foot-8, 260-pound power forward graduated high school early, enrolled at Tennessee in January 2011 and played 17 games as a freshman. He finishes his career with averages of 13.0 points and 9.6 rebounds in 87 games.
