Virginia suspends two for opener
Nov 7, 2014 - 10:30 PM Charlottesville, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Virginia Cavaliers have suspended sophomore guard London Perrantes and junior forward Evan Nolte for two preseason games and their season opener against James Madison for a violation of team rules.Perrantes won the starting point guard job as a true freshman last season, helping Virginia to a 30-7 record and ACC regular season title. He averaged 5.5 points with a team-high 3.8 assists.
Nolte has been used primarily off the bench in his two seasons and will play a similar role this year, but could see a bump in playing time with the departure of big man Akil Mitchell. Nolte put up 2.8 points per game last year after averaging 5.7 as a freshman.
Both players are eligible to return against Norfolk State on Nov. 16.
