Wisconsin beats OU to capture Battle 4 Atlantis

Nov 29, 2014 - 12:26 AM Nassau, Bahamas (SportsNetwork.com) - Frank Kaminsky had 17 points and eight rebounds as No. 2 Wisconsin defeated Oklahoma 69-56 in the championship game of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament on Friday afternoon.

Traevon Jackson posted 13 points, eight assists and three steals, while Duje Dukan added 13 points and six boards for the Badgers (7-0), who began the second half on a 16-2 run to pull away.

Dinjiyl Walker was the lone double-digit scorer for the Sooners (4-2), netting 10 points off the bench.

Oklahoma began the game 2-of-10 and then hit seven straight shots before going two for its next 14 as Wisconsin seized control of the contest.

The Sooners trailed by a point at halftime prior to the Badgers' elongated surge. Sam Dekker hit a jumper and then found Nigel Hayes for a layup to cap it and give Wisconsin a 50-35 cushion with 12:57 left.

Oklahoma never cut the deficit below nine the rest of the way.

Jordan Woodard drove down the floor in transition and his behind-the-back pass to a trailing D.J. Bennett led to an emphatic right-handed dunk for a 33-32 Sooners edge late in the opening half.

Jackson responded with a jumper at the other end for a 34-33 Wisconsin edge heading into the locker room.

Wisconsin scored 27 points off 21 Oklahoma turnovers ... The Badgers join Harvard in 2011, Duke in 2012 and Villanova last season as Battle 4 Atlantis tournament champs ... Kaminsky won the tournament's MVP.
