Georges Niang finished with 16 points, seven assists, six rebounds and two blocks for Iowa State, which rode a big second-half run to its fourth straight win.

Aaron White scored 18 points to lead the Hawkeyes, who had their win streak snapped at six games.

Matt Thomas nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Iowa State a 38-33 halftime lead, and then Cyclones opened the second half on a 24-4 run to seize control of the game.

Iowa State, which scored 18 straight at one point during the surge, led 62-37 after a Niang trey six minutes into the frame.

The Hawkeyes closed to within 75-61 on a Mike Gesell jumper with 4:52 remaining. A steal by Gesell on the next Iowa State possession gave Iowa an opportunity to trim its deficit further, but Josh Oglesby missed a 3-pointer.
