Arizona routs Washington State

Feb 16, 2015 - 3:56 AM Pullman, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kaleb Tarczewski, Brandon Ashley and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson each scored 17 points in the seventh-ranked Arizona Wildcats' 86-59 rout of the Washington State Cougars on Sunday.

Hollis-Jefferson also pulled down 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (22-3, 10-2 Pac-12), who have won two in a row since a loss at Arizona State on Feb. 7. T.J. McConnell added 14 points and eight assists.

Dexter Kernich-Drew made six 3-pointers en route to 20 points for the Cougars (11-14, 5-8), who failed to build off a 74-71 win over Arizona State on Friday. DaVonte Lacy contributed 18 points.

"We weren't making shots. We couldn't keep up with the pace of the game," said Washington State coach Ernie Kent. "We couldn't handle what they came at us with."

The game was never in doubt for the Wildcats, who shot 59.5 percent from the field in the first half. Hollis-Jefferson led the way with 12 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting, including a jumper at the buzzer to make it 53-19 at the break.

The Cougars, on the other hand, made only 26.7 percent of their shots in the first half.

"We had a tremendous first half," said Arizona coach Sean Miller. "We did what we needed to do in the second half. We weren't going to beat them by 30 in the second half."

Arizona led by as many as 36 in the second half.
