Former Louisville guard Jones arrested

Feb 26, 2015 - 8:17 PM Louisville, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Former Louisville basketball player Chris Jones was arrested on charges of rape and sodomy.

According to the arrest warrants, two different women identified Jones as their assailant.

Jones pleaded not guilty Thursday morning in a Louisville court room and was released on home incarceration.

Two other men, Jalen Tilford and Tyvon Walker, were also charged. Neither is a Louisville student.

The university, in a press conference Thursday, said Jones was still enrolled as a student as of Thursday morning.

Jones was dismissed from the basketball team on Sunday morning when the school learned of the allegations against him.

A transfer from Northwest Florida Junior College, Jones was suspended Feb. 17 for an unspecified violation of team rules. He missed one game before the suspension was lifted, then scored 17 points in 36 minutes off the bench in Louisville's 55-53 win over Miami-Florida on Saturday.

Jones was averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and a team-high 3.6 assists per game this season for the Cardinals.
