Last season: 17-16, did not take part in postseason.
Nickname: Seminoles.
Coach: Leonard Hamilton.
Conference: Atlantic Coast.
Key returners: Xavier Rathan-Mayes, ran the point last season and averaged 14.9 points as a freshman; Montay Brandon, led the team in rebounding last season (5.5 rpg) and averaged 11.8 points per game; Devon Bookert, senior guard with great range from outside as he made 40.9 percent of his 3-pointers last season in conference play.
Who left: Kiel Turpin, started 12 games last season and averaged 12 minutes per game in ACC games.
The Skinny: For the first time in a couple seasons, Florida State has depth along with one of the top recruiting classes in the nation headlined by Dwayne Bacon, who played in the McDonald's High School All-American game last season. With a mix of experience and youth, the Seminoles could bid for their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012.
