LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Stanford dominated inside and used a big second-half run to defeat Arizona.
Brook Lopez had 20 points and 15 rebounds and twin brother Robin Lopez scored 14 as No. 11 Stanford pulled away for a 75-64 victory over the Wildcats in the Pac-10 quarterfinals on Thursday.
Point guard Mitch Johnson had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and Lawrence Hill added 11 and eight as the Cardinal snapped a two-game losing streak with their third win over Arizona this season.
With the win, Stanford will face No. 21 Washington State in the semifinals on Friday. Stanford swept the two-game season series with the Cougars.
The Cardinal (25-6) outrebounded the Wildcats, 50-27, and had 21 of their rebounds on the offensive end. Stanford also had a 44-26 advantage on points in the paint.
The game was tied at the half and neither team could establish control until the Cardinal started to create some separation.
Stanford went on an 8-0 spurt to take a 57-49 lead with 9:19 remaining and the Cardinal continued to pull away, extending their lead to 69-54 on a layup by Fred Washington with 5:09 to play. Arizona never got closer than nine the rest of the way.
The Wildcats (19-14) have made the NCAA Tournament for 23 consecutive seasons but that streak may be in jeopardy as Arizona dropped eight of its final 12 games.
Jordan Hill scored the game's first six points for Arizona, but that would be the largest lead of the first half for either team.
The Cardinal trailed by four points late in the half, but Brook Lopez and Lawrence Hill each scored a bucket to tie the game at 35-35 at the break.
Freshman Jerryd Bayless scored 18 points on 4-of-14 shooting and Jordan Hill added 16 and six rebounds for the Wildcats, who shot 36 percent (20-of-55) from the floor.
