James Madison extends women's basketball coach, two others
Sep 14, 2011 - 1:14 AM Harrisonburg, VA (Sports Network) - James Madison has extended the contracts of women's basketball coach Kenny Brooks, baseball coach Spanky McFarland and women's soccer coach David Lombardo, athletic director Jeff Bourne announced Tuesday.Brooks was extended through April 24, 2016. Entering his 10th season at the helm, Brooks has led the Dukes to back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2010 and 2011. His teams have advanced to postseason play in each of the last six years.
McFarland's contract was extended through June 30, 2015. JMU has won two CAA Championships in the last four years and has advanced to three NCAA Tournaments in McFarland's 14 years as coach.
Lombardo, in his 22nd season at JMU, has guided the Dukes to 10 NCAA Tournament appearances. He was extended through February 9, 2015.
