WVU ends Baylor's Big 12 home winning streak

Mar 2, 2014 - 11:09 PM Waco, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Averee Fields scored the go-ahead layup off a steal with 12 seconds remaining and No. 11 West Virginia ended No. 6 Baylor's Big 12 home winning streak at 35 games with a 71-69 victory on Sunday.

The loss kept Baylor from clinching its fourth straight regular-season Big 12 title. West Virginia tied the Lady Bears for the lead with one game remaining in the regular season for both teams.

Asya Bussie scored 21 points and Christal Caldwell had 17 for the Mountaineers (26-3, 15-2 Big 12), who have won nine straight and will wrap up their regular season Tuesday against Kansas.

Odyssey Sims poured in 39 points to lead Baylor (25-4, 15-2) and Nina Davis scored 12 with 16 rebounds, but the Lady Bears had an 11-game winning streak snapped. They play Tuesday at Iowa State.

Baylor's 44-game overall winning streak vs. Big 12 opponents was snapped by Kansas on Jan. 19.
