Mar 24, 2014 - 3:15 AM Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Sydney Wiese posted 26 points as she led the Oregon Ducks to a 55-36 win over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in the first round of the NCAA Tournament's Stanford Regional at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Wiese, who knocked down 6-of-13 from behind the 3-point line, added five rebounds and four assists for the ninth-seeded Ducks (24-10), although she was the only player on the squad to make more than three field goals in the meeting. Deven Hunter, who missed all but two of her 12 field goal tries, added 11 rebounds and six assists.

The eighth-seeded Blue Raiders (29-5) were led by Ebony Rowe who registered a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds, but she converted a mere 7-of-23 shots from the floor. Olivia Jones pitched in with eight points, 10 boards and three steals.

Oregon State scored the first points of the night and never looked back, although the squad shot only 8-of-30 from the field, including 4-of-16 on the perimeter, as it grabbed a 26-15 lead at the break. Middle Tennessee shot a woeful 6-of-31 from the floor.

The second half was only slightly better for the Blue Raiders as they converted 8-of-30, but missed all seven chances beyond the arc.

The defense for the Ducks was astounding as it limited the Blue Raiders to only 23.0 percent success from the floor and 2-of-17 on the outside.
