It was a rough first half for Texas A&M going against top-seeded UConn. The Aggies shot a dismal 28.9 percent from the floor in the frame, and went 0-of-4 from 3-point range. UConn connected on 50 percent of its field goal tries in the half, and took a 34-23 lead as the teams broke for the intermission.

The Huskies didn't let up much in the second half, netting 46.2 percent of their shots. The Aggies improved to 43.3 percent shooting from the field, but could do nothing to cancel out UConn's already large lead.

UConn had the edge in points in the paint, 39-22, and outscored Texas A&M from beyond the arc, 21-6. The Huskies had an extremely quiet night from the bench, though, as not one reserve player recorded a shot or free-throw attempt in the entire contest.
