Vaughn, Rutgers rout Robert Morris
Mar 22, 2008 - 9:06 PM DES MOINES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Kia Vaughn scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds Saturday as second-seeded Rutgers routed Robert Morris, 85-42, in an NCAA Tournament Greensboro Regional first-round contest.Vaughn shot 9-of-12 from the floor and made all four of her free throws to lead four Scarlet Knights in double figures.
Epiphanny Prince finished with 21 points and five steals, reserve Brittany Ray scored 14 points and Rashidat Junaid added 13 off the bench for Rutgers (25-6), which will face Iowa State in the second round.
The Scarlet Knights shot 62 percent (21-of-34) in the first half to build a 48-21 intermission lead.
Kendra Williams paced 15th-seeded Robert Morris (23-10) with 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting.
