Hill throws 4 TDs as Texas A&M beats Rice

Sep 14, 2014 - 7:01 AM College Station, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenny Hill had four touchdown passes as No. 7 Texas A&M rolled to a 38-10 win over Rice on Saturday.

Hill went 20-for-31 for 300 yards with Josh Reynolds catching two scoring passes for the Aggies (3-0), who also got a rushing touchdown from Tra Carson. Speedy Noil and Ricky Seals-Jones each caught a score as well.

"We started off slow," Hill said. "We are going to work on that and fix that and be better next week."

Driphus Jackson was 21-for-32 for 212 yards and a touchdown for the Owls (0-2), who opened their season on Aug. 30 with a loss to Notre Dame.

The Aggies took the lead on their second touch of the game as a 13-play, 80- yard drive saw the team find the end zone when Noil caught a 14-yard score for a 7-0 lead with 3 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter.

Texas A&M's first touch of the second quarter proved fruitful, as a quick six- play, 69-yard drive saw Hill and Seals-Jones connect for a 13-yard score and a 14-0 lead.

The Owls responded on their next touch as Jackson hit Mario Hull for a 35-yard score to cut their deficit in half, but the Aggies later got a 48-yard touchdown grab from Reynolds with 3 1/2 minutes to play in the first half for a 21-7 advantage.

Rice had a 48-yard field goal attempt by James Hairston blocked near the end of the half.

Texas A&M began the second half with the ball and made it pay off, with Reynolds hauling in a 20-yard score for a 28-7 lead.

A 1-yard touchdown run from Carson with 5 1/2 minutes to play in the third made it a 35-7 game, while Hairston hit a 33-yard field goal near the end of the frame.

Josh Lambo made a 47-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter for the Aggies to cap the scoring in the game.
