Key Austin Peay running back ineligible

Aug 13, 2013 - 8:20 PM Clarksville, TN (Sports Network) - Austin Peay running back Reco Williams, the team's top returning rusher, has been declared academically ineligible, the Ohio Valley Conference university announced Tuesday.

Williams, a sophomore from Clarksville, rushed for 501 yards in nine games, averaging 4.8 yards per carry, as a freshman last season. He also caught 17 passes.

Austin Peay recently added Tim Phillips, a senior transfer from Central Michigan, to the running back mix to go with senior Terrence Oliver.

The university also said wide receiver Earlzo Singleton, a junior college signee, left the Governors football program by withdrawing from school.
