Donald nabs Bednarik Award

Dec 13, 2013 - 1:54 AM Lake Buena Vista, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Pitt senior defensive tackle Aaron Donald captured the Chuck Bednarik Award as the nation's top defensive player immediately after winning the Outland Trophy as the nation's top interior lineman.

Donald, also the Lombardi Award and Nagurski Trophy winner, has 26 1/2 tackles for loss and 10 sacks through 12 games for the Panthers. Nearly half of his 54 total tackles were behind the line of scrimmage.

UCLA linebacker Anthony Barr and Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley were the other finalists for the honor.
