Stanford's Reynolds declares for draft
Jan 14, 2014 - 10:49 PM Palo Alto, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Stanford safety Ed Reynolds announced Tuesday that he will forego his final season of eligibility and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.A two-time first-team All-Pac-12 selection, Reynolds amassed 87 tackles and one interception this past season to help the Cardinal to a second consecutive Rose Bowl berth and a No. 3 national ranking in run defense.
The redshirt junior is considered one of the top available safety prospects in this year's draft class.
"I would like to thank the Stanford football family for putting me in this position and preparing me for the next level," Reynolds said. "A very special thanks to our coaching staff, support staff and my teammates for making the memories of these past four years last a lifetime.
"I would like to extend my deepest and most sincere gratitude to the Stanford community for its support during my time on The Farm. A better script could not have been written for my experience at Stanford as a student-athlete."
Reynolds recorded six interceptions as a sophomore, the most by a Stanford player since 1973, and returned three of those picks for touchdowns.
