Alcorn State to play seven home games

Mar 10, 2014 - 2:10 PM Alcorn State, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - Alcorn State's football program will play seven home games at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium as part of a 12-game 2014 schedule announced Monday.

The Braves will host non-conference games against Virginia-Lynchburg (Aug. 30) and Louisiana College (Sept. 13) as well as five of their nine Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents, Southern (Sept. 27), Alabama State (Oct. 4), Texas Southern (Oct. 18, Homecoming), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 15) and Jackson State (Nov. 22).

The Braves' road schedule includes a Sept. 6 visit to Southern Mississippi of Conference USA.

Coach Jay Hopson's squad is coming off a 9-3 season, including 7-2 in the SWAC.
