Report: Oregon LT Johnstone re-tears ACL
Aug 11, 2014 - 8:00 PM Eugene, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Oregon left tackle Tyler Johnstone re-tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last week and will miss the 2014 season, according to a report.Johnstone confirmed the news to Comcast SportsNet Northwest.com on Monday and will have surgery Friday. He initially injured the same knee during the Ducks' 30-7 Alamo Bowl victory over Texas last December.
Johnstone stated that he heard a popping noise from his knee during the first week of fall practice. His knee buckled while pass blocking during a non- contact drill.
Oregon, which is ranked in the top five of most preseason polls and has national title aspirations, was set to return all five of its starters along the offensive line from last season.
