Enos resigns at Central Michigan for OC position at Arkansas
Jan 22, 2015 - 8:50 PM Mount Pleasant, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Dan Enos resigned as Central Michigan's head football coach on Thursday and announced he will join Bret Bielema's staff at Arkansas as its offensive coordinator.Enos spent the past five seasons at the helm of the Chippewas, leading them to two bowl games and a 26-36 overall record.
He was a four-year letterman and a two-year starter at quarterback for Michigan State from 1987-90.
"Dan is a great fit for our program. He runs a pro-style offense and brings expertise at the quarterback position as both a player and coach," Bielema said. "He has an outstanding reputation and will be a tremendous asset for Razorback football."
Enos spent 19 years as an assistant coach prior to taking the Central Michigan position. He spent four seasons as an assistant at Michigan State under Mark Dantonio, coaching the running backs for three years after one year as the quarterbacks coach.
The 46-year-old was also the quarterbacks coach for Dantonio at Cincinnati in 2004 and 2005, and has been an assistant on the Division I level at Western Michigan (2000-02).
Central Michigan athletic director Dave Heeke said the program will "move quickly and decisively in naming a new coach."
