Vikings ink first-rounder Smith
Jun 1, 2012 - 3:55 PM Eden Prairie, MN (Sports Network) - The Minnesota Vikings have signed safety Harrison Smith, the team's second first-round pick in the 2012 draft.Minnesota selected the 6-foot-2, 214-pound Notre Dame product 29th overall after the club chose left tackle Matt Kalil with the fourth overall pick.
In his 51-game career, Harrison totaled 309 tackles, 18 1/2 tackles for a loss, 3 1/2 sacks, seven interceptions and 35 passes defensed.
Kalil and cornerback Josh Robinson, a third-round pick, are the only members of the Vikings draft class who remain unsigned.
