Broncos ink K Prater to four-year deal
Jul 2, 2012 - 5:55 PM Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Broncos have signed kicker Matt Prater to a four-year contract. The Broncos placed their franchise tag on Prater back in March, but the club locked up the 27-year-old for the next four years, as executive vice president of football operations John Elway announced Monday via his Twitter.
"Happy to announce we have signed kicker Matt Prater to a new four-year deal," Elway said. "This was the final piece in setting our roster for camp, and we are thrilled Matt is going to be a Bronco for a long time."
Prater converted 19-of-25 field goals, including four winning kicks on the final play, and made all 30 of his extra-point attempts last season. He has missed just two of his 132 extra-point attempts over his five-year career with Atlanta and Denver.
