Jets send Otah back to Carolina after failed physical
Jul 31, 2012 - 4:44 PM Spartanburg, SC (Sports Network) - Offensive tackle Jeff Otah is heading back to the Carolina Panthers after failing a physical with the New York Jets. The teams agreed on a trade for the former first-round pick on July 23. The Jets had sent a conditional draft choice to Carolina for Otah -- a first-round draft choice in 2008.
A left knee injury landed Otah on injured reserve last October after he played just four games. He also missed the entire 2010 season and the final three games of the 2009 campaign after tearing the meniscus in his knee.
