Packers sign P Masthay to extension

Aug 3, 2012 - 8:28 PM Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers signed punter Tim Masthay to a contract extension Friday.

Terms of the pact were not disclosed.

Masthay set a single-season franchise record last year for gross punting average with 45.6 yards per kick. His 38.6 net yards per punt was also a team record.

The 25-year-old signed with the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and has appeared in all 32 games over the last two seasons, posting a 44.6-yard gross punting average and a 38.0-yard net punting average.
