Saints re-sign WR Morgan
Mar 18, 2014 - 10:53 PM New Orleans, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Saints re-signed wide receiver Joe Morgan to a one-year contract on Tuesday.Morgan, who turns 26 on Sunday, caught 10 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns in 2012, but tore his ACL in training camp last year before being placed on season-ending injured reserve.
The signing of Morgan came just hours after the Times-Picayune reported that prosecutors dismissed the drunken-driving charge against the Saints wideout stemming from his arrest in May 2013 for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
According to the report, Morgan accepted entry into a diversion program, which must be completed before his charges can be reduced.
