Saints trade up to get WR Cooks in 1st round
May 9, 2014 - 2:40 AM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Saints traded up to take Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks with the 20th pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday.The Saints dealt the No. 27 pick and a reported third-round selection to the Arizona Cardinals to move up seven places.
Cooks, who is 5-foot-10, caught 128 passes for 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns this past season, winning the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver.
His catches and receiving yards set school and Pac-12 conference records.
