Patriots sign LB Anderson
Jun 4, 2014 - 11:18 PM Foxboro, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots signed veteran linebacker James Anderson on Wednesday.Anderson started all 16 games for the Bears last year, recording 102 tackles and four sacks.
The 30-year-old Anderson played for the Panthers from 2006 to 2012 before signing with Chicago.
Anderson has registered 556 tackles, 12 sacks, three interceptions, five forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries in 110 NFL games with 69 starts. The Virginia Tech product has totaled 100 or more tackles three times in his career, including a career-high and franchise-record 145 tackles in 2011 with Carolina.
In addition, the Patriots released wide receiver Mark Harrison.
