Panthers extend Chandler, Addison, Jones

Jun 18, 2014 - 9:11 PM Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Panthers signed offensive tackle Nate Chandler, defensive end Mario Addison and safety Colin Jones to contract extensions.

Chandler's deal is for three years, while Addison and Jones each got two-year extensions. All three were headed into the final year of their contracts.

Chandler started in eight of the 16 games he played in last season, while Addison made two starts. Jones spent the 2013 season as a reserve.

The Panthers also disclosed offensive tackle Andrew McDonald underwent surgery last month for testicular cancer. McDonald said the May 20 procedure came a day after the discovery of a little bump, but it was removed and hadn't spread.

McDonald has previously confirmed he was identified in the Ted Wells report on harassment in the Miami Dolphins locker room as a player who was bullied.
