Cardinals activate Mathieu from PUP list
Aug 19, 2014 - 8:35 PM Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Cardinals activated safety Tyrann Mathieu and nose tackle Alameda Ta'amu from the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday.Mathieu tore the anterior collateral ligament and lateral collateral ligament in his left knee during a game last December and started training camp on the PUP list, as expected.
He finished his rookie season with 68 tackles, two interceptions and one sack over 13 games.
Ta'amu is also coming off an ACL injury suffered late last season. His return came one day after the Cardinals lost starting defensive tackle Darnell Dockett for the year with a torn ACL.
Both players could be ready for the season opener on Sept. 8 against San Diego.
