Gronkowski set to play against Dolphins
Sep 7, 2014 - 4:37 PM Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is active for Sunday's game against Miami.Gronkowski is coming off a torn ACL he suffered in a Week 14 game last season and said earlier this week he would play in the opener. Coach Bill Belichick, as usual, downplayed the comments and said Gronkowski would be a game-time decision.
The 25-year-old Arizona product did not play in the preseason and appeared in just seven games last year, finishing the season with 39 receptions for 592 yards with four touchdowns. He began the 2013 campaign on the PUP list while recovering from offseason procedures for his back and forearm.
Quarterback Tom Brady, who missed practice Thursday and returned to the field Friday because of a calf injury, is expected to start Sunday. He was listed as questionable on the injury report, as was Gronkowski.
