Buccaneers' McCoy done for season

Dec 15, 2014 - 9:58 PM Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith announced Monday that three players, including All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, will be placed on injured reserve in the coming days.

Also done for the season are wide receiver Louis Murphy and rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

McCoy sprained his right knee in Sunday's 19-17 loss at Carolina. The 2013 first team All-Pro selection was in the midst of another strong season, recording a team-best 8 1/2 sacks in 13 starts after amassing 9 1/2 sacks and 50 tackles last year.

Murphy, whose 380 receiving yards on 31 catches were third-best among Tampa players, suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's game.

Seferian-Jenkins, the Bucs' second-round pick in this year's draft, has not played since Week 12 due to a back injury. The former Washington standout started nine games as a rookie, making 21 catches for 221 yards and two touchdowns.
