Dallas (2-0) at Chicago (1-1) Sunday 8:30 pm EDT
CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The strength of the Dallas Cowboys this season figured to be their offense, and so far they have lived up to expectations.
But the Cowboys could be hard-pressed to put up big numbers Sunday night, when they visit the Chicago Bears in a key early-season NFL battle.
Through two games, Dallas has scored a league-high 82 points and has surpassed 35 points in consecutive contests for the first time since 1987.
The Cowboys' defense also helped out in last week's 37-20 win over the Miami Dolphins, forcing five turnovers. That helped Dallas break open a close game with 27 second-half points.
Tony Romo, who owns the league's second-highest passer rating (119.3), has helped the Cowboys get off to their first 2-0 start since 1999.
Dallas was picked by many observers to win the NFC East and, with a victory over the Bears, could stake an early claim as the NFC's best team.
But the Cowboys will be facing the league's best defense from last season, and the Bears have been especially tough against the run so far this year.
In last week's 20-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bears held Larry Johnson, the NFL's second-leading rusher last year, to 55 yards on 16 carries.
That came on the heels of a dominating effort the week before against LaDanian Tomlinson. While the Bears dropped their season opener to the San Diego Chargers, 14-13, they limited Tomlinson to 25 yards on 17 carries.
Now, the Bears turn their attention to Cowboys running back Marion Barber, who has rushed 154 yards and three TDs.
Chicago got an offensive boost last week from Cedric Benson, who surpassed the century mark for only the second time in his career with 101 yards on 24 carries.
Dallas leads the series, 12-8. The NFC rivals have not met since 2004, when the Cowboys posted a 21-7 victory.

look at all the saps on the Boys, I guess they really are America's team, well the D has been good through the half and the Offense has had its moments. Chitown's got a good vibe with the Cubs rolling hopefully Grossman will respond to the booing like Big Z did today. Go Bears sack Romo!!!

I'm psyched for this one. We get a good defense to face so we get to see what my Cowboys offense is made fo this week. Is Romo the second-coming of Staubach or was this just two really bad teams they played. Either way he has looked good and what seems like no hangovers from last year's playoff game.
