Report: RB Chris Johnson wounded in drive-by shooting

Mar 8, 2015 - 6:10 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Free agent running back Chris Johnson was shot in the shoulder early Sunday morning in a drive-by shooting that left one man dead and another man injured, according to multiple reports.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that the shooting took place at about 4:09 a.m. at the intersection of Southland Boulevard and Orange Blossom Trail, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

An unknown vehicle pulled up at a red light beside the Jeep Johnson was riding in and opened fire, deputies said. Johnson was wounded in the shoulder, while the driver was killed and another victim was wounded in the shoulder, hand and leg.

Johnson and the other victim are listed in stable condition. The investigation into the case is ongoing.

The 29-year-old Johnson, who attended Olympia High School in Orlando, was recently released by the New York Jets after the organization did not pick up his contract option.
