Panthers keep DT Edwards
Mar 10, 2015 - 6:24 PM Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Panthers have re-signed defensive tackle Dwan Edwards to a two-year contract.Financial terms for the 11-year veteran were not disclosed.
Edwards joined the Panthers in 2012 as a free agent and has compiled 13 sacks in 41 games with the club. He totaled 39 tackles with four sacks and one interception in 16 games last season.
"I wanted to finish what we started," said Edwards in a statement Tuesday. "I got here three years ago and the defense has been improving, we've made a couple playoff appearances and I want to see it through."
Edwards has also played for Baltimore (2004-09) and Buffalo (2009-11) during his career. He has 343 tackles with 18 1/2 sacks, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 124 NFL games.
