Seahawks acquire Graham from New Orleans

Mar 10, 2015 - 10:45 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - Just minutes before the NFL's free agency period was set to begin, the New Orleans Saints traded All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham to the two-time reigning NFC champion Seattle Seahawks.

The move sends Graham and a fourth-round draft pick to Seattle in exchange for center Max Unger and Seattle's first-round pick.

It will mean a third straight draft for the Seahawks without a first round pick unless they work out a move on draft night.

Graham, a former basketball star at the University of Miami, has been one of the league's most dominant tight ends since his breakout season in 2011.

He has appeared in 78 of a possible 80 games in five years with New Orleans, accumulating 4,752 yards and 51 touchdown catches, including a league-best 16 in 2013.

In Unger, New Orleans gets a 28-year-old, two-time Pro Bowler to bolster its offensive line.
