Cardinals add Redding, Shipley

Mar 12, 2015 - 12:14 AM Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Cardinals signed former Indianapolis Colts defensive end Cory Redding and center/guard A.Q. Shipley to two-year contracts on Wednesday.

Redding is a 12-year NFL veteran who started 45 games over the previous three years with Indianapolis after joining the team in 2012. Last season, Redding started all 16 regular-season games and all three postseason contests.

The 34-year-old Redding has 412 tackles, 35 1/2 sacks and one interception in 176 career games with the Lions, Seahawks, Ravens and Colts. He entered the league with Detroit as a third-round selection in the 2003 NFL Draft out of Texas.

Shipley played in 15 games with five starts for the Colts last season. The 28- year-old has appeared in 45 career games with 19 starts for the Ravens and Indianapolis.

Both newcomers have a familiarity with Arians, who served as the Colts' acting head coach for much of the 2012 season.
