Bills land Harvin

Mar 18, 2015 - 6:34 PM Orchard Park, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Buffalo Bills officially signed wide receiver Percy Harvin on Wednesday.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but it was initially reported that the deal was for one year.

Harvin became a free agent after being released by the New York Jets on March 10.

The 26-year-old veteran, who was set to make $10.5 million in 2015, caught 29 passes for 350 yards and a touchdown in his brief stint with the Jets.

Harvin joins an offense that features recently-acquired running back LeSean McCoy, rookie phenom Sammy Watkins and former Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel. He'll also be reunited with head coach Rex Ryan, who also moved to the Bills from the Jets this offseason.

The Florida product was traded to New York last October from Seattle, where his tenure was marred by injuries and rumored locker room issues.

Harvin's career got off to a great start after he was honored as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2009 with Minnesota. Since entering the league, he has averaged 6.7 yards after the catch, which is good for the highest average among all receivers with at least 300 receptions.

In six seasons, Harvin has compiled 332 receptions for 3,802 yards and 21 scores over 68 games with the Jets, Seahawks and Vikings.
