Jets add TE Davis

Mar 25, 2015 - 6:41 PM Florham Park, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Jets have signed veteran tight end Kellen Davis to an undisclosed contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Davis has appeared in 101 games over seven NFL seasons, primarily as a blocker and special-teams contributor. The 29-year-old owns just 50 career catches and has recorded just three over the past two years.

A fifth-round pick of Chicago in the 2008 NFL Draft, Davis spent his first five seasons with the Bears before joining Seattle in 2013. The Michigan State product played in six games with the Detroit Lions last season.

Twelve of Davis' 50 career catches have gone for touchdowns, and he had a personal-best five with the Bears in 2011.
